And the Winner is...

David Cook! YEA!

After Tuesday night's Finale show aired,
I was a little bit nervous for my favorite David.
He didn't seem to pull out the BIG guns like the younger David had.
I hoped that his overall time on Idol would see him through
to the winner's circle, but I wasn't entirely confident.
Fans can be so unpredictable and, honestly, a little flaky.
Loyalty doesn't seem to last long in show biz, unfortunately.
So I hoped for the best.

And as we watched the after-the-vote Finale episode,
I found myself wishing it was the before-the vote episode.
His magic was back! He was incredible with ZZ Top!!!!!
I'd pay to see that performance! Of course, I am a huge ZZ Top fan,
but none-the-less, David was awesome!
Again, I crossed my fingers and hoped the world saw what I saw in him.

And apparently they did!
With over 95 MILLION votes the winner was Kansas City bartender,
David Cook!

I love it when the world gets it right! And they don't always.
I was truly shocked, jaw-dropped-to-the-floor shocked, when Taylor Hicks
somehow managed to win the worlds' votes a few seasons ago!!
I still ask myself how the heck THAT happened?!
But this season, both finalists are destined to be huge stars. Little David without
a doubt earned himself a great record deal as well. And deservedly so.
Second place really isn't a bad thing on American Idol.
Just ask Clay Aiken.

Want more details on David's win and the American Idol Finale?
I loved this article from the Kansas City Star newspaper.
(The above photo was from their site.)

Beginning of the End...

Its a love hate thing about reality shows...

We can't wait to see who become the last couple finalists, but then in a flash the show is over and another television time slot becomes blah.

Americon Idol begins its two-part finale tonight on Fox. It's the David vs David sing-off. Who do I like best? Who will get my vote? Yep, you guessed it, I'm voting for David!

David Cook that is!

I really think David A. is good too, but he is more of a boy-band, pop singer whereas David C. can take any song and make it his own blend of alternative, sometimes edgy, style of rock. He is different. He stands alone. He ROCKS!! Finally, a Doughtry-style rocker making it all the way!

If you don't know what I mean about taking any song and making it his own edgy style check out his rendidtion of Billy Jean. Can you place the song originally?....It was Michael Jackson in his glory days. I like this slowed down, rockish version so much more!

So, I hope tomorrow night I will see David Cook crowned the next American Idol...he deserves it!
And if I could've hand-picked the top three finalists? Here's who it would've been....

David Cook, Carly Smithson, and Michael Johns

enjoy the shows that keep you watching!

Losing to Win...

I have LOVED this season of The Biggest Loser!!! Rog and I have been inspired, we have been motivated, and most importantly, we have learned a lot about what to do to get ourselves in better shape.

We have already began eating differently, and are now planning to purchase some exercise equipment and turn the loft into a workout area. It is amazing how much weight they lost on the show -naturally - simply by changing their lifestyles and their thinking.

Check out Ali's transformation - She lost 112 lbs and became the first woman in five seasons to win The Biggest Loser title!!!

Way to go, Girl!!!

Sometimes we all need a little reminder that the only race in life we are running is with ourselves. There is no time to look back and judge where others are at in their race; for they are not racing against us. We must watch only our own steps...forever keeping our eye on the goal that lie ahead.

So I will set my own personal goal as to where I want to be, and I will race my own race. I will not compare my successes or stumbles to anyone else. I will keep my eye on the goal. And whatever the outcome, or how long the journey, I will be proud of what I accomplish. Because with weight loss the most important number is truly, the amount of years you add on to your life!

"There is no need of any competition with anybody.
You are yourself, and as you are, you are perfectly good.
Accept yourself."
-Osho

enjoy the journey as you race toward your goals!

Surviving the Writer's Strike

I admit it, I was a little angry when the writer's strike began to creep into my life by serving me nothing but television re-runs and cancelling the Golden Globes. But, for every ailment there is a cure and reality shows are proving to be the perfect prescription!

I watched my first complete season of The Amazing Race and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was extremely happy as the team I rooted for crossed the finish line in first place last night (TK and Rachel...Yea!). And now I am deeply involved watching The Biggest Loser (another show I had never seen more than an episode of two of prior to the strike). It is inspiring to see other people working hard and losing weight. And I love the couples angle!

I am about to be highly compensated for my television loyalty during the writer's strike, however, when my all-time favorite reality show returns to the airwaves in record time....

Survivor: Fans vs Favorites will begin on February 7th!!!!

A mere two and a half weeks from now! And with the return of one of my favorite past players, it is sure to be a great season!!!

Do you recognize this previous castaway?

Here's a hint: He climbs Banana trees and holds his breath better than any player I've ever seen.

Yes, Ozzy is back! He came in second place in the Cook Islands, and I will love getting to see him go for the title of Sole Survivor this time!

enjoy the reality that the writer's have given us,
