Our State Flower in her Prime


I used to wonder why in the world the Rhododendron plant was Washington's state flower. I just didn't get it.

My Grandmother never wondered though. She has loved these plants for as far back as I can remember. After spending a day in her yard taking pictures before we sell the house, I too saw the reason.


They are incredible when they are fully grown, and in full bloom. The colors are amazing! Here are just a couple shots I captured last weekend.
